Where Growth has no Leash

ZigZag is the #1 app for dog training & life skills, helping pups and their pawrents build a lifelong bond. Too many dogs miss out on the right training, leading to behavioural issues or even abandonment. Our mission is to prevent that by making puppy training accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

We’ve been featured as Apple’s App of the Day, highlighted in New Apps We Love, and shortlisted for multiple industry awards. Backed by a major global petcare organisation (Purina), we’re a growing product-led company with big ambitions and a close-knit team.

About the role

As Product Manager, you'll partner closely with our Head of Product to drive the day-to-day execution of our product strategy. Whilst strategic direction is set collaboratively, you'll own the operational delivery, working with a cross-functional squad, managing the workflow, and ensuring we ship features that drive real impact. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on execution and getting things done.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day product execution: Lead a cross-functional squad through our Kanban workflow, translating product strategy into shipped features that move the needle on user activation, retention, and monetisation. Define success metrics for every initiative and ensure we're measuring what matters.

  • Shape and maintain the squad roadmap: Work with the Head of Product to translate company and product strategy into a clear, prioritised roadmap for your squad, balancing quick wins, user needs, technical trade-offs, and longer-term bets.

  • Run dual-track discovery and delivery: Balance continuous discovery (validating problems and solutions) with delivery (shipping features), ensuring we're building the right things that drive business value.

  • Drive cross-functional delivery: Be the operational heart of your squad, coordinating between engineering, design, marketing, eCRM, content, customer support, and data teams. Unblock issues, maintain flow, and step in wherever needed to keep things moving.

  • Work hands-on with engineers and designers: Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to shape user journeys and experiences, contributing to user stories and supporting UX copy where needed. Be in the detail, ensuring technical feasibility meets user needs.

  • Explore, implement and iterate with AI: Identify opportunities to use AI both inside the product and within team operations. This could include consumer-facing AI features, internal prototypes, workflow automations, prompt experiments, research synthesis, support tooling, or analytics acceleration. Partner with engineering, data and design: Validate where AI creates genuine user or business value, and define simple evaluation methods to measure quality and impact.

  • Design and execute experiments: Set up, launch, and analyse A/B tests within the product to optimise conversion, engagement, and growth metrics. Own the testing roadmap and turn learnings into action.

  • Monitor performance and iterate: Use product analytics tools to track KPIs, identify opportunities, and drive rapid, data-informed iterations based on what's working. Set up processes to evaluate our existing AI features and improve them.

  • Stay close to users: Regularly interview Zigzag users, analyse their feedback, and translate insights into actionable product improvements that solve real problems.

  • Champion a culture of momentum: Foster an environment where experimentation is encouraged, learnings are shared quickly, and the squad moves fast without sacrificing quality.

Your profile

  • Experience: 3+ years in product management or a similar hands-on role, ideally with a track record of leading squads and shipping products that drive measurable outcomes.

  • Execution-focused: You're energised by getting things done. You know how to move from discovery to production quickly using Kanban or similar workflows, and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves.

  • Strong analytical skills: Hands-on experience using product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Looker, Lightdash) to make prioritisation and product decisions.

  • Customer-centric: Deep empathy for users and proven ability to conduct user interviews and translate insights into product solutions that deliver business value.

  • Experimentation expertise: Hands-on experience designing, setting up, running, and analysing A/B tests that drive measurable results.

  • Technical fluency: Comfortable collaborating with engineers daily, understanding technical trade-offs, and contributing to user story definition.

  • Strong communicator and writer: Able to write clear UX copy, distil complex ideas into actionable plans, and align both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adaptable and resilient: Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. Comfortable pivoting when priorities shift and making decisions with incomplete information.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in start-ups or small, fast-moving teams.

  • Track record working on B2C mobile applications.

  • Familiarity with dual-track agile or continuous discovery practices.

  • Leveraged AI tools or technologies to create a prototype, workflow, internal tool, automation, consumer-facing feature, or side project, demonstrating curiosity and practical understanding of how AI can create value.
